Last year we reviewed the 2018 Mazda6, a completely redesigned version of the Mazda6 which brought loads of improvements to the already popular car. Just a year later Mazda decided to improve further with a few spicy additions for the 2019 Mazda6.

Petrol Specs

Performance: 140 kW / 252 Nm
Engine: 2.5 L SkyActiv-G Petrol
Average consumption: 7.2 L per 100km
Transmission: 6-Speed Auto

Turbo Petrol Specs

Performance: 170 kW / 420 Nm
Engine: 2.5 L SkyActiv-G Turbo Petrol
Average consumption: 7.6 L per 100km
Transmission: 6-Speed Auto

The torque figures between the SkyActiv-G engine and the turbo SkyActiv-T are very different, but the power difference is just 30 kW – definitely noticeable, but not really spectacular.

The additions for 2019 are not super significant. Bear in mind that this is not even considered a minor facelift, as we got the whole new model last year. The additions include the mentioned G-Vectoring Plus, tyre pressure monitoring as standard, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an improved FM radio sound due to an additional antenna that improves reception. 2019 prices for the Mazda6 wagons start at $35,790 for the sport and work their way up to just over $51k for the top Atenza with that turbo engine.
