MY 2020 Kia Carnival Recalled

2241 Kia Carnivals were recalled in Australia due to a loose battery terminal which could potentially lead to a fire within the engine compartment. The cause for the issue is the loose battery terminal that increases resistance to the alternator and, consequently, increases temperatures.

The affected models are 2020 model year, but they were sold between Aug 30 2019 and Aug 19 2020. Kia is contacting the owners of the particular cars that are affected by this issue. Luckily, this is just a precautionary fix with no known incidents with owners in Australia.
