What is it?
The Prado has been reskinned, re-engined and re-platformed. The 250 Series rides on Toyota's TNGA-F body-on-frame architecture, the same chassis underneath the LandCruiser 300 and the new HiLux, with a 48V mild-hybrid assist on the 2.8-litre turbo diesel.
The lineup runs from GX 4WD at $72,500 plus on-roads, through to Kakadu 4WD at $99,990 plus on-roads. Warranty cover sits at 5 years, unlimited km.
Interior and Technology
TNGA-F frame shared with the LandCruiser 300, 3,500 kg braked tow across the range, and Altitude brings locking rear diff plus sway-bar disconnect into the lineup for the first time.
Third-row space in 7-seat grades is cramped for adults because the hybrid battery sits high. Cargo with all three rows up is genuinely small for a 5-metre 4WD wagon.
