What is it?
The third generation X3 (G45) landed in Australia in late 2024 on BMW's CLAR architecture with a more upright stance, frameless doors, and a cleaner side profile. xDrive AWD is standard, the cabin runs iDrive 9 on a curved display, and the M50 brings genuine inline six character.
The lineup runs from xDrive20 at $86,100 plus on-roads, through to M50 xDrive at $128,900 plus on-roads. Warranty cover sits at 5 years, unlimited km.
Interior and Technology
All new G45 platform brings sharper steering and tighter body control. Mild hybrid across the range, and the M50 delivers proper inline six performance with a 4.6 second 0 to 100 km/h.
Dash de-buttoning is divisive, with climate now buried in the touchscreen. No PHEV or full EV X3 option at launch in Australia.
