Tailem Bend is a proper road trip stop. The chargers work reliably, there's food and toilets within walking distance, and it's positioned perfectly for the Adelaide to Melbourne or Adelaide to Mount Gambier run. The town isn't particularly photogenic but it's efficient, in and out in under 30 minutes with enough added for the next leg.
Parking notes: Large gravel area, easy for towing vehicles
