The Polestar 5 is the brand's flagship four-door electric grand tourer, built on a bespoke bonded aluminium platform engineered in-house rather than borrowed from Volvo or Geely. It uses an 800V electrical architecture, a 112 kWh battery, and a dual-motor layout with rear bias. Two grades launch in Australia: Polestar 5 with 405 kW and 670 km WLTP, and Polestar 5 Performance with 650 kW combined output and 565 km WLTP. Presale ordering open, deliveries expected mid to late 2026. The Polestar 5 sits above the Polestar 4 and replaces the Polestar 1 at the top of the range.

The lineup runs from Polestar 5 at $215,000 plus on-roads, through to Polestar 5 Performance at $245,000 plus on-roads. Warranty cover sits at 5 years, unlimited km. Battery: 8 years, 160,000 km.
