The BT50 in our review is in the XT trim with the dual-cab body. So that means itโ€™s just the entry-level trim and it doesn’t have all the perks, but itโ€™s still a nice offering.

The engine is a 3 L turbo diesel and, being based on the D-Max, it is the only option in the new BT-50. It produces 140 kW and 450 Nm of torque from 1600 to 2600 revs. And Mazda wanted Jenny to dust off her driving skills so they sent us the 6-speed manual.

So is there room for the BT-50? If there was room for the one based on the Ranger, there is certainly one based on the latest D-Max. Add to this Mazdaโ€™s neat styling and the BT-50 seems here to stay.
