FRENCH flair is to the fore again with Peugeot showing its all-new 508 just before next monthโ€™s 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

The medium-sized sedan is long and low with a sleek profile and sophisticated, sporty look.

Itโ€™s 80mm shorter and 60mm lower than before, and under the sexy body and mounted on the new light EMP2 platform are new suspension systems fore and aft, a variety of 1.6 petrol and 2.0 litre turbo-diesel motors and 8-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels.

The interior is chic minimalist with a 12.3-inch i-Cockpit display in front of the driver and a 10-inch central touchscreen.

All models will have the entire alphabet of electrical safety and driver assistance features, including automated emergency braking from up to 140 km/h, plusย  class-leading night vision assistance.

The Peugeot 508 is due to go on sale in Europe late this year, with Australia getting it very soon after.

Models and specifications for the local market will be announced closer to arrival date.
