A NEW special and very limited edition of Ford Mustang’s Bullitt, celebrating the 50th anniversary the legendary Steve McQueen movie, will be heading to Australia later this year.

Ford hasn’t said much about the car, other than it will be sold only in Dark Highland Green, but it will likely be similar to the car unveiled at the recent Detroit Motor Show.

That one had a black grille, a throttle-blipping function, Brembo brakes, 19-inch Torq Thrust wheels and Recaro seats.

Mustangs have been a hit since arriving in Australia in late 2015, leading sports car sales nationally for the 26th consecutive months – despite Ancap’s bleating that it scored only two stars in crash tests.

Australian-spec Mustangs come with a Performance Pack as standard, including 19-inch alloys, a sports suspension tune and, on Mustang GT, high-performance Brembo brakes.

Details and local spec of the 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt will be announced closer to the vehicles launch.
