The Holden Astra R is the lowest spec version of the new Astra, but it is packed with nice features… more or less. It should be viewed as a nice family hatch adorned with some cool comfort, sport and tech features found only in higher class cars, but also lacking some of the common features especially for the rear passengers.
Things are similarly diverse in the engine department. There are only two, but they provide noticeably different driving feels. The lower spec 1.4 Turbo capable OK on paper, but you need to push it hard to get into the sporty territory that matches the looks and the R mark.
